Can I use the London theme with Silk UI?
No. The Silk UI patterns depend on some page layout logic, which is not present in London. The Liverpool theme is the closest match to the London theme.

Check the Liverpool Theme
Can I migrate my app to Silk UI?

My application is based on London Theme

  • Change your eSpace Theme:
If your eSpace doesn't have a Theme of its own, just change the eSpace DefaultTheme to the Theme you selected previously
If your eSpace has a Theme of its own, change its Base Theme and Layout to the ones from the Theme you selected previously
  • Remove all references to the old Theme and old Layouts

Should I change the Silk UI components?
Try to avoid it. It will make the upgrade to future improved releases a lot harder. Prefer to create your own patterns on the side.
What’s the problem with CSS?
CSS looks easy at first. But it quickly grows into quite a mess without some specific know-how. The approach we’re implementing fits a methodology called Styleguide-driven development.

Is Silk UI compatible with OutSystems Now?
Yes. Everything in Silk UI should work perfectly in an OutSystems Now native shell.
Can I use a Pattern outside a Silk UI theme?
Yes, you can. But you need to carry some of the page layout logic present in themes.
Why didn’t you use Bootstrap?
In essence, we preferred to build it ourselves, to ensure a perfect fit with the platform. We wanted to make sure we could change the code when required, that it had a perfect preview in the Development Environment and that we could implement an enterprise-grade responsive behaviour.
What browsers and devices are supported?
Silk UI is built to support all modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera and all modern devices such as IOS 7+, Android 4.0+ and Windows Mobile 8.1+.
